The Realm Bridge
The Realm Bridge was a stable fey crossing that carried refugees from the Feywild into Senera during the Draco-Giant War. The crossing became inseparable from later Western Beteran traditions that interpret the Aurorae as a bridge between worlds.
The Crossing
Section titled “The Crossing”Someone whose identity and purpose remain unknown foresaw or studied the approaching crossing, but its destination was not known before it opened. Auraxx persuaded the Archfey to send the fey communities displaced by the war through it. An unnamed superior within the draconic forces ordered him not to accompany them, but he entered in humanoid form so that the refugees would not arrive undefended.
The Realm Bridge opened over Senera. The refugees who crossed it became the ancestors of the fey communities now living on the island. Auraxx’s decision to accompany them had been anticipated by a curse that imprisoned him in a gold-canary figurine, although the unknown observer of the crossing and the curse-maker have not been established as the same person.
Cultural Memory
Section titled “Cultural Memory”Western Beteran languages commonly associate the Aurorae with travel between worlds. The realization of the idea differs across regional traditions, but the bridge metaphor remains widespread.
Northern Apgarian folklore mentions that the colors of the Aurorae show which entities are traveling between the worlds during the celestial events.
Hickic folklore calls the Lights the Elven Bridge, ’eldegralen asadimris. The tradition remembers the elves and other fey creatures who traveled the bridge to escape the Draco-Giant War.
